Noida / Ghaziabad: Continuous shower all day leaving many areas in Noida and Ghaziabad flooded with water and intermittent blackouts reported in several places.
In Ghaziabad, several arterial roads saw the initial congestion that day.
In noida, sector-sectors 12, 53, 19, 51, 62, 63 and 40 and Parks in sectors 77, 19, 51 and 119 were cut into pieces by being flooded and the power was reported from sector 22 and 30 and the delta sector 2 and parts Greater Noida countryside.
The district recorded 39.5 mm rain from 8am on Tuesday to 2.45 a night on Wednesday and as on Tuesday, the tanker and suction pump were deployed by the larger Noida Industrial Development Authority (Gnida) to clean rainwater.
Ghaziabad received 12 mm rain on Wednesday, according to the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), and waterlogging was reported at Patel Nagar, Govindpuram, Indirapuram, Vaishali, Lohia Nagar and Vasundhara.
In Raj Nagar Extension Roundabout and Mohan Nagar, some people can look navigate waist face.
“Ahimsa Khand 2 in Indirapuram is one of the most vulnerable places, partly because of its low gradient.
On Wednesday, most of the roads in the area, which are decorated with holes, are flooded,” said DK Pandey, a local resident.
In Loni, who was also susceptible to waterlogging, motorists were seen dragging two wheels through the flood road.
“This happens every time it rains.
Water channels choked and water spilled into the main road,” said a commuter.
An official from the Ghaziabad Traffic Department said the vehicle movement was disturbed near Raj Nagar’s extension roundabout and Mohan Nagar due to waterlogging.
“But the water runs out after some time and the situation becomes normal,” he said.
In Noida, sector 53 was flooded.
“This happened because the disposal work taken by the Noida Authority was not finished.
We have raised this problem with officials several times but there is no action that has been taken so far,” Anil Kumar Singh Residents Association (RWA) President, Sector 53.
Sanjeev Kumar Rwa , Secretary General, Sector 51, said several basements in C blocks and children’s parks in this sector were flooded.
“We have urged the Horticulture Department of the Noida Authority to install water harvest holes in large parks and green belts.
But nothing is done to overcome this problem so far,” he said.
CEO of Gnida Narendra Bhooshan examined Ecotech 3, the Halduni intersection, Hindon Pushta and Lakhnawali area on Wednesday and asked officials to clear the waterways and come up with a detailed plan to pump rainwater in a week.
