Some takers to drive poll vaccinations in kolkata

Kolkata: On Monday, only a handful appeared in Covid Vaccination camps specifically established by citizens of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) for residents throughout the city by remembering the next civilian polls.
Acting on the direction of Swasthya Bhawan, KMC officials on Sunday asked Borough executive health workers to increase inoculation drives for a week.
Thus, KMC medical officers are careful to ensure that no residents are returned without getting Jab.
However, in the end, more than half a bottle of vaccine given for that day must be returned not used because no taker.
Health officials believe most of the crolkata adult population has received the two doses.
Some vaccination clinics blew the window leaves at 2:00 p.m.
on Monday.
At the KMC Layelka vaccination clinic, the drive was called for that day at 1:30 a.m.
because there were no recipients.
The clinic barely recorded 30 second doses during the day.
According to a KMC health department official who is responsible for tollygunge-jadavpur belt, about 10 vaccination clinics in the region recording only 40 average recipients per day for the past two weeks.
“The scene is very different until a month ago when we had to reject citizens to want a vaccine,” he said.
At the KMC vaccination clinic in Garia, the inoculation rate above average after a group of health workers can succeed in reducing several second-dose recipients who are reluctant from the environment.
This clinic records 70 doses at the end of the day.
The KMC coordinator of Bhowanipore, Ashim Bose, has decided to knock some neighborhood doors on Monday morning where some family members are marked to miss as the recipient of the first or second dose.
“Even after persuading the part of the recipient who was reluctant, the number did not exceed 80 of the mega center at BhawaniPore Education Society,” Bose said.
This mega center has provided 500 doses every day during the second wave peak.
According to Commissioner of the City of Binod Kumar, the reason for the low attendance was the coverage of the first dose vaccination of 100%.
“Thousands of people come to Kolkata to get their jabs from neighboring districts.
Now they get their jab in their home town.
This has created a decrease in demand at our clinic,” Kumar said.
