New Delhi: Without nomitating Pakistan or other countries, India said on Tuesday that several countries use their expertise in cyberspace to achieve their political and security related goals and “enjoy the forms of their contemporary cross-border terrorism”.
Participating in the UNSC debate about cyber security, Harsh Shringla’s foreign secretary said the world had witnessed the use of cyber tools to compromise state security through critical national infrastructure attacks, including health and energy facilities, and disrupt social harmony through radicalization.
He also called for member countries to adopt a collaborative rule-based approach in cyber space and work to ensure openness, stability, and security.
“These rules must try to ensure collective cyber security through international cooperation.
Multistakeholder involvement will help in achieving this goal,” he said.
