New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said that Somnath Temple is a symbol of the faith and the culture visited by more than one Crore pilgrimage every year.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony from the new circuit house near the Somnath Temple in Gujarat, the prime minister congratulated the Gujarat government and confidence in Somnath’s temple for the project.
“Somnath is a symbol of the faith and the culture visited by a crore of the pilgrims every year, taking new thoughts and experiences.
The situation in which the Somnath Temple was destroyed, and the situation in which the temple was renovated by Sardar Patel’s efforts, both of them had a big message for us when we celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, “he added.
“Today, the Somnath circuit house is also inaugurated.
I really congratulate the Gujarat government, Somnath’s temple trust and all of you on this important opportunity,” said PM Modi.
He further said that this building has been designed in such a way that people who live here will also get a ‘sea view’.
“I was told that this building has been designed in such a way that people who live here will also get a ‘sea view’ that is, when people sit here peacefully in their rooms, they will also see the waves of the sea and peak somnath too will be seen, “Prime Minister said.
PM Modi said that the new circuit house will be the center of tourism and landscaping has been done in such a way that the sea view is available from each room.
According to the Prime Minister’s office (PMO), Somnath Temple was visited by lakh worshipers from India and abroad every year.
The need for a new circuit house is felt because the existing government facilities are located far from the temple.
The new circuit house has been built at a cost of more than Rs 30 Crore and is located near Somnath Temple, PMO said.
It is equipped with upscale facilities including suite, VIP and Deluxe rooms, conference rooms, auditorium halls etc.
Landscaping has been done in such a way that the sea view is available from each room, he added.
