New Delhi: Ahead of the Monsoon Parliamentary Session Starting July 19, President Congress Sonia Gandhi has reconstitute party parliament groups for both houses for effective party functions.
Placing all speculations to rest, Sonia Gandhi has let Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury stay as party leader at Lok Sabha.
Sonia Gandhi, as Chair of the Congress Parliament Party, on July 15 issued a letter that said, “I have decided to rearrange the following groups to facilitate and ensure effective functions of our side in both parliamentary houses.” In Lok Sabha, this group has Adhir Ranjan Choudhury, Gaurav Gogoi, Manish Tewari, K.
Suresh, Manickam Tagore, Shashi Tharoor and Ravneet Bittu.
At Rajya Sabha, Malikarjun Kharge, Anand Sharma, Jairam Ramesh, Ambika Soni, Digvijaya Singh, P.
Chidambaram and K.C.
Venugopal will lead the charge against the government.
The letter said they would meet regularly during the session and after that whenever needed, and Kharge had been authorized to hold a joint meeting.
