Ranchi: Head of Jharkhand Minister Hemant Soren is likely to attend a meeting called by the President of Sonia Gandhi’s Congress after the last invite Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to join the same-minded opposition party meeting on August 20.
JMM’s source told toi Friday that Soren would likely attend the meeting of opposition leaders to fight BJP.
“Further discussion rounds are expected to occur between our work president (Hemant) and leaders of various political groups in the coming weeks,” A JMM Formusary in knowing these things.
Gandhi’s invitation for the same-minded opposition parties is seen as an attempt to build a Front United to take BJP in the selection of Sabha 2024.
Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, Bengal Bengal Barat and Tamil Nadu Mamata Banerjee and M K Stalin are expected to attend the meeting.
Earlier this month, the Head of Sharad Pawar NCP also called Soren and invited him to become part of the conglomerate, sewn by Congress and Banerjee to build the United National Opposition Alliance BJP.
Banerjee, the President of Work RJD Tejaswi Yadav, CPI (M) Secretary General of Sitaram Yechury and Head of DMK MK Stalin had attended the Soren oath ceremony in December 2019.
However, Soren had run-in with the previous Bengal assembly of the year.
It was because of the intervention of the pavement that Soren refrained from deploying JMM candidates in the tribal assembly constituency dominated by the West Bengal tribe.
“The president who works us on several occasions emphasizes the need to form a united opposition front to defeat BJP.
Every decision in this case will be taken by the party leadership after a detailed deliberation,” said Secretary General JMM Supriyo Bhattacharjee.
In August last year, Soren attended a virtual meeting of opposition leaders called by Gandhi.
“The country and economy are not in good condition now.
At this time, I feel that the opposition has weakened.
I urge all opposition leaders to unite as one and raise their voices in a brilliant way,” Soren said.
