On his birthday yesterday, actor Sonu Sood did not only join the Indian Olympic movement as a brand ambassador but also announced that he would accompany the Indian contingent to the World Winter Games Special Olympics in Russia next year.

Sonu interacts with special athletes, responding to their questions while admiring and appreciating their sports achievements.
The athletes also introduced it to #WalkForClusion, an initiative of the Asia Pacific Olympics.
In his role as a brand ambassador to the Special Olympics Bharat, Sonu will lead the Indian special athlete team to Kazan Russia in January, where they will represent the country in a prestigious world winter match.
“I feel honored to have this opportunity with our team in Russia for the Special Olympic Winter Olympics.
I will encourage our athletes to provide the best and entertain them with such an enthusiasm that the support of support will echo in India too,” he said.
The game, which is held every two years (changing between summer and winter games), is the biggest global sporting event for intellectual disabilities.
The next edition – winter games – will be held in Kazan, Russia from 22-28 January 2022.
The Indian contingent for these games was sent by the Special Olympics Bharat, the National Sports Federation was accredited by the Special Olympics and was recognized by the Indian government.
