SOP campus on WB: isolation room, distance a must

By: Poulami Roy Kolkata: The State Education Department on Thursday issued a set of guidelines for schools, colleges and universities, paving the way for institutions to open offline classes in mid-November.
While institutions must regulate the isolation space for students who fall ill on campus, teachers and professors will be assigned roles and responsibilities to ensure staff and students adhere to the Covid protocol and safety norms.
The standard operating procedure (SOP) calls for classes in the school to be held in two sessions, morning and evening.
Classrooms must be numbered with revised seating settings to ensure adequate distance.
If there is a provision to accuse three students on the bench, only two will be allowed to sit at both ends, followed by one person in the middle of the next line.
Minister of Chief Justice of Mamata Banerjee previously showed that steps must be taken for educational institutions to reopen for classes on campus on November 16.
After the SOP was released on Thursday, several heads of private educational institutions said they would help them improve and resolve their reopening process too.
The rules are determined that meetings of online parents will be held to communicate DOS and prohibitions and behaviors that are suitable for students, both on campus and at home.
It includes wearing the right size mask and right at any time and avoid physical contact with classmates.
Sports and other co-curricular activities will remain suspended.

For colleges and universities, SOP does not spell student needs to be vaccinated to attend classes in place.
The sanitation regimen will be the same as the school.
Everyone on campus must be closed.
