Mumbai: Diesel prices in Mumbai crossed RS 101, with retail fuel at Rs 101.03 per liter at the pump on Monday morning.
The price of gasoline in Mumbai also hiking to Rs 110.41 per liter.
Prices of gasoline and diesel in Thane and Navi Mumbai each Rs 110.55 and Rs 101.17 per liter, this morning.
Transporter held an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss a diesel increase and decide on the next action or protest.
They then said, “If we are pushed to the wall, the freight can be revised in the near future if the fuel increase remains unchecked.
This will be the only decent choice in front of the industry.” Small transporters find it difficult to run a business because of 65% from transportation costs on fuel.
Other senior transporter said, “The government must sympathize with middle-class taxpayers, which will be influenced by the increase in fuel prices.”
