Noida: A 29-year-old Jamajwadi Party worker claimed that he was harassed and was contacted by several locals during campaigning in the Rabupura area in Greater Noida for the election of upcoming assembly.
In his complaint, Yogesh Gautam, a resident of Jarsa Village, claimed that he was discussing a strategic poll in the party office in Khagoda Village in Rabupura on Saturday when a group of people arrived and began to shout slogans against SP.
“When I object, they beat me.
They also used condescending words and harassed me because I belonged to the Dalit community,” he said.
Shripal Singh, Sho of Jarcha Police Station, said that the FIR was registered with two men – Jatta and Billu – and some unknown people in the 171-F IPC section (undue influence or personality (voluntarily causing wounds), 323 ( Voluntary causing injuries) and 506 (criminal intimidation) and under the scheduled caste and the scheduled tribes (prevention of cruelty) acts.
