SPATS with TTES rises because of the unauthorized commuters

Mumbai: With restrictions related to relaxed Covid, there is an increase in a fight between train ticket checkers (TTES) and commuters traveling by local trains even though they are not authorized to climb them under locking rules.
Only important workers, including government staff, bank employees and those from the health care industry, are permitted to take the train now.
“The number of commuters has soared from 5 lakh to 15 lakh per day for the past month.
Most of these are illegitimate travelers who are at risk of being caught but keep going up because they have a family to feed.
When they are caught, it leads to arguments and sometimes.
– Sometimes limbs can be bad, “said a senior RPF official.
An official from the CR commercial department said: “Most of them cannot pay a fine is a daily wage recipient.
This is the catchment of-22 for TTES because they were asked to be strict to curb unauthorized trips because they could cause a surge in the Coronavirus case.
“Before locking, a fight with TTES rarely occur, with one possible incident in three four months.
The situation triggers anger: Daily wage workers need to go to work locations, private companies are open and so are restaurants, for example, but no workers they can take the train – Mumbai’s lifelines.
Commuter complains of road transportation very time consuming and expensive.
“I used to take my two-wheeled vehicle to the office but my back pain was exacerbated.
I decided to take a train because the taxi was expensive and the bus needed a lot of time to reach my workplace at Ghatkopar,” said Kalyan Resident Ramesh Thakur.
“Nearly 90% of IDs are shown to us as false evidence.
In many cases, the doctor has issued an ID card to their neighbors or relatives to show that they are their employees.
When they were caught, they felt embarrassed and began to argue or release names,” said a tte with wr.
Sometimes the spat turns really bad.
“In one such incident, a woman who was not authorized was traveling, when caught, accused TTE as a fake employee and began to take a picture.
He threatened to make them a viral,” said a train official.
As soon as an unauthorized passenger complained to his mother, which reached the CSTR station threatening Tte.
“Our union has received a large number of complaints from TTES.
We will approach the government to find a solution to this threat,” said Secretary General of the National Railway Mazdoor Union (CR).
