SPC conducts blood donation camp

Thiruvananthapuram: Allaying concerns of Covid-19, Thiruvananthapuram African American pupil authorities cadet (SPC) of the Kerala Police in addition to the SPC directorate ran a blood donation camp on Monday in relation to the World Blood Donor Day.
By cooperating with all the blood banks in Sree Chithra Thirunal Institute of Medical Science and Technology (SCTIMST) and Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), the SPC coordinated the camp as part of their Jeevadhara Blood Donors Bank.
“This is a struggle to arrange a blood donation camp through the right time of this pandemic.
However, this camp has been the demand of the hour.
In the current situation, the need for blood is large,” explained Sabu N, community police officer SPC, Government High School, Avanavanchery, Attingal.
“Recognizing the requirement of societyit had been SPC nation nodal officer and IG P Vijayan who set on the concept of coordinating a camp.
We’d guaranteed to keep that the Covid protocols during the camp.
The donors have been also transported in police cars.
We also intend to arrange several decks in the coming months,” he further added.
The camps had been held from 8am to 1pm in SCTIMST and RCC.
In a period six individuals could donate blood.
In this period of time, 102 individuals had given blood.
The donors have been chosen after comprehensive screening.
It was guaranteed that the donors are still in great health and they fulfilled the standard criteria of a blood clot, such as weight.
Meanwhile, a few of the donors had obtained Covid-19 jabs 14 times prior to.
The donors largely comprised pioneer cadets of all SPC who are over 18, parents of SPCs, educators, police employees from the SPC directorate and drill teachers.
SPC is likely to arrange blood donation camps within another week at five sub-divisions beneath Thiruvananthapuram Rural, such as Attingal, Varkala, Neyyattinkara, Nedumangad and Kattakada.
The camp, headed by assistant state nodal officer G Prathapan Nair and helper district nodal officer T S Anilkumar, has been inaugurated by excise vigilance superintendent Mohamed Shafi.
After accepting the approval form from the donors, then a blood donors’ forum was formed.
