Special complaint cells of the Cave University for extended students

PANAJI: The representative of the Chancellor of the University of Goa has extended a special period of complaint cells formed at last year’s university to deal with student academic problems arising due to the pandemic situation.
Kaustubh Priolkar, Dean of the Physical and Applied Science School, will be the head of the cell, which consists of eight members.
The term cell now stands extended until 2022.
Students have been asked to send their complaint emails to gusgc@unigoa.ac.in.
Together (Academic) Registrar will function as a member secretary on the cell.
Other members include the Dean of the Business School Gu Ms Dayanand, Dean of Manohar Parragar Law School, Government and Public Policy Shaiila d’Souza, Deputy Dean (Research) Chemistry School of Rajendra Shirsat, School Deputy (Academic) Earth, Samudra Science and Atmospheric Anthony Viegas, Head of the Botanic Department of Krishnan and Head of the Department of Marathi Sunita S Umraskar.
Last year, the University Grant Commission had formed a task force and also launched Helpline to hear complaints from students arising from pandemics.
Based on email and telephone calls received, UGC found that students raise concerns related to the resolution of syllabus, technical disruptions during online classes, problems related to rear paper, etc.
“Complaints require action on the part of the University / College / State of the Government.
According to the guideline issued by the UGC, each university is expected to establish cells to handle complaints of students relating to academic examinations and activities during the Covid-19 pandemic and notify students who are accordingly, “UGC landed country.
