Mumbai: Special Court here on Thursday rejected police officers who were dismissed Sachin Waze for a ‘default’ guarantee in the case of SUVs with explosives found near the residence of Industrialist Mukesh Ambani, and gave Nia one more month to submit a chargesheet.
On June 9, the court had provided an extension of two months to the National Investigation Agency to submit the charging sheet.
The central body then looks for other extensions, saying the investigation is still ongoing.
Waze had sought guarantees on the ground that the probe agent failed to submit a chargesheet in the specified time so he had the right to be released.
He was arrested in the case on March 13, 2021, after the death of the Thane Mansukh Hiran businessman who had claimed that the SUV found near Mumbai South Residence Ambani on February 25 was stolen from his ownership.
But the Special Nia Court rejected Plea Waze who said it was inappropriate.
The court has rejected a similar ‘default’ bail application in June too.
In addition to aborting, the former police officer ‘met Specialists’ Pradeep Sharma and several other former police were accused of this case.
