Darbhanga: With the intention to go ‘vocal for local’, a special cover on Sikki Grass products was released at the postal training center in Darbhanga on Tuesday.
Shankar Prasad, director of the northern region (Muzaffarpur), and Umesh Chandra Prasad, Pos Superintendent (Darbhanga), was present on that occasion.
Shankar said the special post cover needed to make traditional Bihar products popular at the national level.
Umesh shows that special cover will help create awareness about Sikki crafts and provide Fillip to the cottage industry.
“Most Sikki artists belong to a lower community strata,” he added.
Traditional crafts, who received a geographical indication tag in 2007, made of special types of grass called Sikki.
The products are environmentally friendly, natural, stylish, attractive and affordable.
