Hyderabad: Following the Supreme Court’s decision, preparations are taking place to immerse the Jumbo Khairatabad plaster from Paris Ganesh, weighing around 30 tons.
Khairatabad Committee member Ganesh Ussav welcomed the decision of the Apex court, and said that they had continued work for September 19.
“We have made a special trolley setting, hired from Vijayawada, to bring Ganpati Idol from Pandal to NTR Marg (Hussain.
Sagar),” said the founder-organizer, Sudershan acknowledged the judgment that came as a relief.
Procession, on Sunday, will start at 9 am from Pandal Khairatabad.
“At 3 pm, we hope the immersion is complete,” added Sudershan.
Likewise, more than two idols of Lakh Ganesh in various sizes, installed in almost 40,000 pandals throughout the city, will also be immersed at Sagar Hussain now.
In fact, immediately after the Supreme Court’s orders on Thursday, the Bhagyanagar office carrier Ganesh Utsav Samithi told all the Committee Pandal to make the necessary arrangements, such as hiring trolley vehicles and items, to ensure that mass immersion was carried out peacefully.
“We spent around ₹ 8 lakh for idol pop and wondered where we would immerse it, after a high court ruling.

Another organizing group of KPHB, which has installed pop idol for the past 20 years, also aired the same reaction.
“Every year we install idols with the contribution of our colonies and are specifically designed from Dhoolpet.
We are happy about the assessment of the Supreme Court,” said Members, N G Murthy.
“Government agencies, including police, income, GHMC, HMWS & SB, TSSDPCL, and other departments must complete the arrangement,” Srinivas Yadav, Minister of Livestock, said it added that GHMC had arranged 24 large cranes at Hussain Sagar.
