New Delhi: Cabinet Secretary has asked all ministries to increase the implementation of budget announcements and accelerate capital expenditure which mark progress in many ministries at the end of the first quarter of the current financial year is “unsatisfactory”.
In a letter aimed at all Secretary, the cabinet secretary of Rajiv Gauba said Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized several problems including the need to encourage capital expenditure while referring to the last PM meeting with the top bureaucrat.
He also directs all ministries and departments to identify points that can be followed up from PM independence day speech and ensure time-bound implementation.
“In particular, roadmaps may be prepared to reach 100% saturation under the central government scheme,” said the letter.
Each ministry and department has been directed to report regular implementation progress, Gauba also said a single data source can be useful for various benefits and therefore there is a need to embrace the concept of “data is wealth” and utilize available data “with the government department.
Cabinet Secretary has also been Directing all ministries and departments to procure goods and services using the GEM portal, the government’s electronic market.
Gaura has also directed the ministry to bring all delayed references including from VIPS such as parliamentarians to “nil” by the end of this month.
The government will also prepare cards Reports and their rankings on the parameters of removing references.
