The statement was placed on the record by the Chairperson of the Minister of Bukavaraj Bommai, who also held a Bengaluru’s development portfolio, in response to the question proposed by the MLC P Ramesh Congress.
“Very astounding that after spending a large number in the last five years on the streets of the city and there is no one kilomous road that is free of thermal gaps, waste (road disintegration), stripping (loss of bonds on the asphalt) or have some kind of hole,” said Ramesh .
The former Bengaluru mayor continued to show a certain case in connection with wasteful expenditure on the road when he said that Jalan Magadi who had just been asphalized had developed a hole throughout the stretch in three months.
For this, the Chairman of the Minister of Balasavaraj Bommai acknowledged that this was a serious problem that had created concern for legislators in the city and the government in a row and that the government was considering road maintenance audits.
“I admit, that all of our legislators receive flak from ordinary people for bad conditions Jalan Bengaluru.
Consider the situation, we will start a road maintenance audit in the city,” he said.
Bommai said the audit would record the history of all roads in the city and also recorded the names of responsible engineers, designated consultants for roads and contractors who had placed the road or given a maintenance contract.
“We will record the road and also improve responsibility for engineers and contractors involved in road maintenance.
If they are not maintained correctly or there are unwanted expenses on the road, we will begin actions against them,” he said.
Previously, Bommai said the government had too many experts who were consulted on every road that had created different designs for different stretches.
He said a consultant had been employed for all the ways and specifications for roads that would be in accordance with the Norma Congress Road (IRC) of India.
CM Bommai said the government would also conduct an investigation into the case of Jalan Magadi.
