MUMBAI: After Alliance Air and Vistara, low cost carrier SpiceJet on Friday boarded the monsoon sale bandwagon with offers of `one way all-inclusive domestic sale fares starting from as low as Rs 999 for travel to select destinations such as Hyderabad-Belgaum, Belgaum-Hyderabad, Chennai-Hyderabad, Chennai-Bengaluru among others’.
The five-day sale begins on 25 June and will extend for bookings done till 30 June.
It will be valid for travel from August 1, 2021 to 31 March 2022.
That is a departure from the sale offers made by the other two airlines in the past one week which had travel period upto October this year.
Essentially the airline has put out offers to rake in forward booking revenue.
Another newbie to boost the sales is a discount within a discount offer in the form of a flight voucher, worth Rs 1000.
Passengers booking tickets during the five-day sale period get the Rs 1000 voucher which can be availed by making another booking on SpiceJet between July 1, 2021 and July 31, 2021, valid for travel between August 1, 2021 and 31 March 2022.“The free flight voucher is equivalent to the base fare amounting up to Rs 1000 per PNR booking and is applicable for bookings with travel period starting from 1 August to 31 March, 2022,” said the SpiceJet release.
“The special discounted fare offer is valid for all one-way retail fares on direct domestic bookings,” said the release.
So if you want to book, say, a Chennai-Hyderabad return ticket, the Rs 999 fare is available only on the Chennai-Hyderabad flight.
Discounted fare for the return flight, Hyderad-Chennai, that is, begins at Rs 1389, putting the cheapest return fare on the route at Rs 2388 (taxes included) for travel in August.
The best deal is for passengers flying between Belgaum and Hyderabad as the Rs 999 fare is available both ways, making it Rs 1998 for a return ticket in August.
The cheapest Mumbai-Delhi return fare was priced at Rs 4,600.
“Tickets for the sale can be booked across channels such as the airline website, online travel portals, the SpiceJet mobile app and through travel agents.
Tickets booked under this offer can be cancelled or changed as per the standard policy.
Passengers will not be able to club this offer with any other scheme/offer/discount/promotion etc.
available at the time of booking.
Blackout dates are applicable.
Seats will be available on first come, first served basis,” the airline added.
Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Commercial Officer, SpiceJet said: “We have also partnered with multiple brands to bring special deals to our passengers that will help them save time and money on their daily expenses and healthcare services.”
