Bengaluru: Spicejet Ltd.
said on Thursday it has approved the solution with Boeing Co’s Max Aircraft Lessor Avolon, opening the way for 737 Max Jets to return to service.
The airline said expecting to start the Max aircraft operation around the end of September, subject to regulatory approval.
Air Safety Regulators Directorate General of Civil Aviation did not immediately respond to a comment request.
Spicejet does not provide more details about settlement.
“When India emerged from Covid-19 and air traffic took it again, the Max aircraft would play a major role in our future expansion,” said Chairman and Managing Director Spicejet, Spicejet.
About 30 airlines and 175 countries have allowed 737 max to return to service after a safety ban for almost two years.
The ban in following two separate five-month crashes that killed 346 people, dropping Boeing became a financial crisis since being exacerbated by a pandemic.
