But because of obstacles in discussing such violations with men, women who were previously avoided approaching the police.
This is now set to change.
For the first time, cyber cells will have a ‘women’s only’ division.
Immediately, city police will establish two police stations to handle cyber violations against women.
One of the women’s cyber cells is expected to appear on the first floor at the Mahila Madhupura Police Station.
The budget to buy basic equipment and furniture has been approved.
A senior police officer told TII that it would take at least one year before the Cyber Cell women’s division became active.
This initiative will be held under the NIRBHAY project.
This has been designed so, because in many cases women are not advanced to file their complaints, especially if sexual violations and stalk.
There will be two police stations for cyber violations against women, which include one in the east and others in the western part of the city.
“We have proposed to the Cyber Women’s Police Station under the NIRBHAY project, whose buildings have been identified, and we have trained female police to ask cyber cases related to women’s victims,” said a Gujarat police officer.
He said that women often become targeted stalkers, scouts, images, and morphing videos where they are projected in bad light.
“There are a number of cases of ‘n’ cases and videos of obscene women with vulgar comments posted by people accused, who is a trace lover or man who with the victims breaking in the past,” the officer said.
In such cases, women doubt interact with male police personnel.
So, we have decided to spread the female police, he said.
“For such cases, we have decided to dedicate a cyber women’s police station where women can tell their trials before the woman’s police,” the officer said.
The strength of the cyber police station has not been decided, but it will be done in the line of two Mahila Police Stations (East and West) in the city where each police station has one inspector monitored by ACP of.
