Gurgaon: Special repair work Gurugram Metropolitan Development (GMDA) in the Basai Railway Overbridge, which provides a critical relationship between new sectors, will be completed at the end of December.
This step will benefit the people who live in the new sector, especially those located along the Dwarka-freeway, and commuters who often visit the area.
According to officials, while the project construction section has been completed, they now completed work related to road safety, such as making a sign of using thermoplastic paint and repairing road buttons.
“This project consists mainly of road overlay work, which most stretches need every three or four years.
Even though we have completed the overlay section for the past three months and has opened a stretch to commuting, road safety work is ongoing.
These tasks will also be completed In the next five to seven days, “said a senior GMDA official.
Built together by Indian trains and Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) at a cost of Rs 153 Crore, Rob opened for commuters in May 2017.
Stretch 1.2km is located at the intersection of the 100 and 37D sectors.
Over the years, Rob developed a gap and hole, especially on the road.
In 2019, some of the structural retaining walls also gave way, leading to closing one of the ways for several weeks.
GMDA previous year came up with a project to make special improvements along the stretch for three months at a cost of almost Rs of 30.7 lakh.
The tender for the project was wrapped in April, with construction began in the field in September.
Commuter expressed assistance on development.
“Basai Rob is an important link for anyone who often visits sectors in this area, because the only alternative to achieving our goals without it is to use Barai-Dhankot Road, which adds about half an hour to travel time.
People use it even when the condition of Rob is poor, but it’s not comfortable and there is more scope of the accident.
I feel relieved that GMDA has done repair work, but only hopes the quality of the repair is good, so the same problem does not appear at least for several years, “said Nirmal Kumar, Sector 102 residents who often use Rob.
