NEW DELHI: The Sports Ministry will start short movies encapsulating the journeys of those Tokyo-bound Indian athletes Thursday to indicate 50 days into the Summer Games.
The movies, calculating the journey in the first days into the Olympic involvement of this notable sportspersons, will soon be released on Doordarshan.
It’ll be shown regular in the series up to the Tokyo Olympics which is supposed to start on July 23.
“Our athletes will be our federal assets.
They placed in countless years of focussed challenging labour, frequently at the expense of their own lifestyles, to bring glory to the nation.
These movies are an ode for their hard work and devotion for their match,” Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju stated in a discharge.
The show – Olympics Ki Aasha will observe stories of self love, enthusiasm and passion of India’s elite athletes and also pay homage to that which it’s taken to achieve the maximum degree of athletic excellence.
“I encourage the whole country, particularly our kids, to see these inspirational tales and cheer for our athletes as they prepare to compete at the largest sporting event on earth,” Rijiju stated.
The very first movie to be telecast is going to likely be of reigning World champion and Rio silver medallist shuttler PV Sindhu.
It’ll be followed by comparable movies on wrestler Vinesh Phogat, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, fighter MC Mary Kom along with wrestler Bajrang Punia, among others.
