Vadodara / Anand: For the first time in the state, an integrated undergraduate and master’s degree program will be offered to students.
In the future with the 2020 National Education Policy (NEP) which was launched by the Government of Narendra Modi last year, Vallabh Vidyanagar based on Sardar Patel University (SPU) brought changes in the traditional flow of science and trade from this academic year.
The university will be offering an Integrated Bachelor and Masters (IBMP) program for Group A and B students of the flow of science and trade students who have cleaned up their 12th grade.
“We introduce IBMP from this academic year with a multi-disciplinary approach as imagined in the new NEP.
We are the first university in Gujarat to do so with a dual degree program in the flow of science and trade.
We also linked it to the Bank of Credit Academic” said Deputy Chancellor Spu Professor Shirish Kulkarni.
For students who have passed in groups, IBMP will be offered in six streams – applied chemistry, applied mathematics, applied science, applied and applied electronic physics.
Same, for group B students, IBMP will be offered in biomedical science and occupy.
Trade students will have the opportunity to pursue IBMP in trade.
The five-year integrated program has been launched with 20 seats each in the flow of science and 70 seats in the flow of trade where receipts will be proper-based.
There is no choice to get out of the program after finishing three years.
If they are out of the program at the end of three years they will get a bachelor’s degree but those who continue to qualify automatically for the Master’s degree.
“The aim of the IBMP is to improve the ability of students to consider global ecosystems.
Also, because students will be registered for five years, there will be more focus on research,” said Kulkarni.
IBMPS will be run on the model financed by RS 12,000 as a cost for one semester.
Students registered in the course will study the general subjects in the first year and then move on to the subject of their choice.
