New Delhi: Direct Russian Investment Fund (RDIF) expects to release the results of the V and Astra-Zeneca ‘mix and match’ sputnik vaccine ‘at the end of July.
In a press briefing, Kirill Dmitriev, CEO, RDIF told me that high efficacy was expected from the trial.
“This approach was completely pioneered by Sputnik V at first.
So we are open to mix and match Covishield in India.
We believe there will be good results.
Covishield is the same vaccine as AstraZeneca so we believe that trials will show high efficacy.
Hoping that the Indian Serum Institute (SII) can produce sputnik v and mix and match too.
This will be a true partnership, “Dmitriev said.
RDIF, Russian Sovereign wealth funds, and SII has also announced cooperation to produce a Russian Sputnik vaccine against Coronavirus in India.
The first batch of sputnik vaccines is expected to be produced at the SII facility in September, and both parties intend to produce more than 300 million doses of vaccines in India per year.
“As part of the technology transfer process, SII has received cell and vector samples from the Gamaleya Center.
With their import agreed by the drug controller General India (DCGI), the cultivation process has begun,” Dmitriev said in a statement issued by RDIF.
