Nagpur: Senior Police Inspector (Traffic) Ajay Malviya, responsible for the Sitabuldi traffic zone, does not match the usual image of a tight and unreasonable police.
Malviya who kindly can’t stand seeing the author of the autorickshaw pay well using coins from the piggy bank, and pay the amount itself.
He also suggested autowallah to stick to the traffic rules before leaving it away.
Traffic police have fined Rohit Khadse’s autorickshaw driver to park his vehicle in the parking zone at Rani Jhansi Square who was busy on August 8.
The police stationed also found that Khadse was a habit of violating traffic rules.
On August 7, Traffic Police Sitabuldi had issued Challan to Khadse to park his autorickshaw in the zone without parking and imposed a fine RS200.
He did not pay a fine for the previous Challans too, including one issued on December 30, 2020, by Indora Traffic Zone for driving an autorickshaw without uniform and license.
A good amount is RS700.
A good amount for three challans is added up to RS2,000.
However, Khadse could not pay a fine and therefore the traffic police held his autorickshaw and parked it at the Sitabuldi traffic office on the civil line.
Khadse moves the autorickshaw by paying RS6,000 monthly rent, and it is the only source of income for families of four members including wives and two children.
Without an autorickshaw, Khadse stared at the total loss of income.
Khadse who is confused find it difficult to manage the situation.
At that time, his five-year-old son Rehansh approached him with his piggy bank and offered him all the money to pay a fine.
“I broke the piggy bank and counted coins.
It’s very surprising, around Rs2,000,” he said.
On August 10, Khadse went to the Sitabuldi traffic zone to pay a fine.
Traffic office personnel objection receive a fine in coins.
Khadse then approached Malviya with a plastic bag carrying coins and revealed his willingness to pay a fine to regain ownership of the detained autorickshaw.
Malviya was curious why Khadse brought a good amount in coins.
That’s when Khadse tells the whole story to the senior police.
The story melted Malviya’s heart and he paid a good amount of his own pocket, returning piggy bank money to Rehansh.
Before letting Khadse leave, Malviya warned him to improve the way and strictly obey traffic rules.
