Chennai: Southern Railway has registered a substantial increase in transportation loading and income during the period from April to October 2021.
The zone contained 16,682 million tons of origin in the first seven months, registering 12.75% growth compared to that in the period according to the last financial year Which stood at 14.796 million tons.
There was also an increase of 26.47% in the provision of luggage originating compared to the last seven first seven fiscal months.
From April to October, making income from loading transportation from origin was Rs 1516.95 Crore against Rs 1,199.50 Crore in the same period the previous year.
In addition, shipping income from 2.61% higher than the Board’s target for April-October 2021.
The main commodity in loading transportation during this year is iron and steel, raw materials for steel plants, fertilizers, cement, fertilizers, oil products and receptacle.
Southern Railway has contained 7.77 million tons of coal, 0.94 million tons of cement, 2.182 million tons of fertilizer, 2,145 pol tones and 0.938 million tons of food grains.
The newly formed business development unit (BDUS) has helped increase newer delivery.
The zone has registered an additional income of Rs.86.7 Crore from the new commodity arrested during April-October.
During this period, 9.39 lakh tons of new commodities were published on 322 rakes.
Sustainable efforts from BDUS Division have helped capture new traffic such as construction machinery, harvester machines, puppies, motorbike tractors, vegetable oils, laterite, motorbike, capable and other cars.
