Colombo: Sri Lanka on Friday extended Kuncian Covid-19 to 21 September, the President’s office said.
The decision to extend the kuncian was carried out during the Covid task force meeting chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
Quarantine curfew will now apply until 4 am on September 21.
It has been applied since August 20.
“With the numbers continue to decline, we believe that Sri Lanka will once again be reopened without risk,” Minister of Health Keheya Rambukwella tweeted.
Meanwhile, the health authority said that more than 10 million out of a total of 21 million populations in the country had been vaccinated with both covid-19 vaccine doses.
The Ministry of Health epidemiology unit said that 10,211,537 people had obtained both Jab Covid-19 on Friday.
The death toll from Sri Lanka from Pandemi passed the mark of 10,800 on Thursday.
The national calculation of the Covid-19 case reached 477,636.
