CHENNAI: The CB-CID of the Tamil Nadu Authorities on Wednesday arrested self-styled godman Sri Siva Sankar Baba, 72, by Delhi for sexually harassing students Within his Sushil Hari International School in Kelambakkam about the outskirts of Chennai.
Baba, who had been on a pilgrimage into Uttarakhand, was admitted to a private hospital at Dehradun.
A CB-CID team headed by deputy superintendent of police Gunavarman and Agency of authorities Jaisankar was Dehradun on Tuesday to nab him.
But, Baba was able to escape from that point.
The police staff trailed him by monitoring the cell tower areas of his partners and devotees since Baba does not use a cell phone.
He had been nabbed in Chittaranjan Park in Delhi on Wednesday.
Superintendent of authorities Vijayakumar along with other officers as well as the cybercrime wing helped the group to nab him.
The authorities were intending to deliver Baba into Chennai by flight Wednesday afternoon.
He’d be contested temporarily at a secluded location in town prior to being remanded judicial custody Thursday, authorities said.
The Mamallapuram all-woman authorities registered a POCSO situation against Sri Siva Sankar Baba depending on the criticism of their students and former pupils.
DGP JK Tripathy moved the case into the CB-CID.
The CB-CID authorities also have registered a case against faculty team members Bharathi and Deepa beneath nine segments of the IPC and the POCSO Act.
The entire problem came to light, even following several former pupils openly shared and discussed with their harrowing experiences in the college and harassment meted from the college creator Siva Sankar Baba through interpersonal networking.
According to the Tamil Nadu State Commission for Protection of Child Rights issued summons to the faculty administration and ran queries that went for about a week.
