Lucknow unit: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) in Lucknow planted more than 25,000 trees in the Basic Mohanlalganj unit on Sunday.
Inspector General of Police, SSB, Ratn Sanjay and other senior officers along with their family members participated in the plantation.
SSB conducted an incident on the call of the Interior Ministry (MHA) who had instructed the central armed police forces (CAPF) to travel plantations in their area.
The Lucknow SSB unit in the past year has planted 1.88 lakh trees.
Official Commander of Rohit Pandey said that as part of the campaign, the unit also developed Saheed Vatika / Vatika and nurseries.
“Seven such nurseries have been developed in units where previous plantation trees that cannot survive are being replaced,” Pandey said.
He also said that the Martyr’s family members will be invited and respected on the commemoration of the upcoming police.
The SSB Prahlad Kumar inspector said that to pioneer plantation drives, SSB supports and works with civil society in planting trees in public spaces such as schools, hostels, hostels.
“To encourage people and to instill a sense of responsibility between them, citizens have made ‘vrikshamitra / paraavaran partners’.
Six hundred Such Vrikshamitra / Paradyavan partners have been nominated and also given certificates, he said.
In a similar effort, the border police Indo-Tibet (ITBP) East Frontier also planted 500 trees along the picnic road area on Sunday.
The ITBP plantation drive was led by IG, ITBP, Sharma SK.
