Guwahati: The first guest lecture from the guest lecture series organized by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Assam, was held in virtual mode with the participation of overseas health experts.
The first international guest speaker of this series, Dr.
Jayanta B Sarma, Microbiology of the Main Consultant, Mid-Yorkshire Hospital, NHS Trust, England, talked about “Ethics Concerns in Modern Medicine”.
The newly held lecture was attended by more than 600 participants consisting of students and faculty members from all disciplines including the Faculty of Medical Allopathic (Modern), Ayurvedic Medicine, homoeopathic drugs, pharmacy, ssuhs.
The principal, head and director of all the affiliated institutions of the university and the largest major officials of Health Sciences from Assam, students and Faculty of Institutions outside the university and the general public of all walks of life attended the event.
Speaker, Dr.
Sarma, highlighted in Eugenics, Euthanasia and other related ethical dilemmas, illustrated through hypothetical examples, which range from the field of medical science to daily social problems and futuristic solutions for medical ethical problems.
Comparisons between oriental and ethical oxidental perceptions are also described.
