Staff Crunch Ails Med Colleges, Hospital

Bhubaneswar: With several health staff in isolation after a steep increase in Covid-19 cases, hospitals in the city face the main labor crisis.
AIIMS Bhubaneswar has reported 156 Covid cases during Covid-19 wave at this time while SCB Medical College and Hospitals in Cuttack have reported more than 40 Covid cases, including breastfeeding students.
“We are just trying to set until they recover and rejoin.
If the situation continues like this and more staff infected with the virus, we will take the steps needed to reduce the intake of OPD patients per day,” said Sachidananda Mohanty, Medical Supervisor AIIMS BHubaneswar.
The National Institute has limited patient OPD intake of up to 100 per day for departments such as General Medicine, Orthopedics, Dermatology, General Operations, Lung Medicine, ENT, OfTalmology, Gastroenterology, and Pediatrics.
People are advised to conduct online consultations through the AIIMS BHubaneswar Swasthya application and telemedicine services.
Hundreds of patients visited the medical accuracy of SCB Premier and hospitals in Cuttack every day.
Four days ago, 28 students in this medical college were tested positive for Covid-19.
Then, several hospital staff remained in isolation because Covid said a senior hospital doctor.
Similarly, more than 20 doctors from various Departments of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (Vimsar), Burla, have been infected by Covid-19 in the last seven days.
In addition, many paramedic staff have also been infected in recent days.
Then Vimsar, Lalit Meher, said health services in the hospital might be affected if more doctors were infected.
The patients who visited the hospital were asked to follow the corresponding behavior of Covid.
