Lucknow: After the head of Yogi Minister Adyitanaath announced to draw the cases of stumps that were turned on pending by farmers, the state government on Thursday chose 868 such cases where the Chargesheets had been submitted against the defendant.
According to the record is available with the police, around 1,500 firs submitted to farmers in 38 districts.
Of these, the chargesheet was filed in 868 cases while the rest was closed with the final report for the absence of evidence or was abolished for one reason or another.
Overall, more than 2,500 farmers were crowned the defendant.
The maximum of 165 cases comes from Kheri where Chargesheets has been submitted.
Last year, the Supreme Court has directed all district police chiefs to coordinate with other departments to curb burning stumps that lead to air pollution.
Other officers in the House Department said aside from the withdrawal of cases, the decision about refunds, ran to several crores rupees, will also be considered.
A senior police officer said that these cases were usually listed under the part of not obeying the commands passed by public servants along with the Indian criminal code such as making a dangerous atmosphere for health, negligent behavior in connection with flammable fire or green and green parts court.

A farmer leader, who wants to be named, says the move will bring assistance to farmers.
