Stakeholders make Draft Vision-2040 for Tadoba

Chandrapur: Mega Stakeholder Conference Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve was held at Agarzhari on Friday to prepare a comprehensive draft vision-2040.
The main problems such as protection and conservation of tigers and wildlife together with increasing tourism, the development of local residents and changing Tadoba into the attractiveness of international tourist discussed.
CCF, TATR, Ramagaonkar said the discussion was held about how Tadoba had to be 20 years.
This conference focuses on garden aspects that need improvement, increasing tourism, expanding the area, increasing corridor conservation and increasing livelihood sources for local residents.
“There is a outpouring of advice and ideas.
Many major problems are also identified.
Such conferences will be held soon because some of the main stakeholders cannot make it.
There is also a need to take the view of the park staff, district officials and other government institutions,” Ramagaonkar said.
Senior Wildlife Activist Dr.
Yogeshwar Dudhpachare highlighted the threat to wildlife, forests and corridors from the mine that appeared in the area.
He claimed that even though TATR was declared as an environmentally sensitive zone, a wildlife corridor that led out of Tadoba was stretching in all directions, where the existing and future mines pose the biggest threat.
He underlined the need to attack the balance between conservation and tourism and formulate policies against mines which pose a threat to wildlife and corridors.
Members of the Wildlife Council of Bandu Dhotre said the conflict had grown from Tadoba and therefore park managers must consider all aspects and build vision documents for larger Tadoba landscapes involving all forests in the Chandrapur district and Gadchiroli.
Vision documents must also include breeding centers for Pangoline and Nasar birds in Tadoba, he suggests.
He also suggested research centers in Tadoba where ideas and steps for conflict mitigation must be studied.
Dhotre also suggests encouraging people to experiment in farming and help them take second plants to reduce dependence on the forest.
He showed the need to maintain the continuity of corridors, their protection and moved outside the district.
Dudhpachare said the recent incident of a Tigress trapped in a resort was discussed and the steps to avoid such incidents were advised while expecting cooperation from the operator.
Guide from the core area is advised to receive a star rating such as the buffer zone guide.
DY Director, TATR (Buffer), G Guruprasad asked villagers to advance and offer their farms for Tadoba’s expansion.
Although representatives were invited, only MLA Kishor Jorgewar, while Minister Guardian Vijay Wadettiwar, former Minister of Forest Sudhir Mungantiwar, MP Balu Dhanorgar, MLA Bunty Bhangadiya and Pratibha Dhanorgar striked with their absence.
PCCF (wildlife) Sunil Limaye and Former PCCF (wildlife) Nitin Kakodkar together with the Field Director (TATR), Jitendra Ramagaonkar, representatives of NGOs, resorts, travel guides, and sarpanchs from buffer villages participating in conferences.
