CHENNAI: Tasmac liquor stores headquartered in 27 districts in Tamil Nadu, such as Chennai, Chengalpet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur, on Monday morning as chief Union M Stalin clarified the reason for allowing the sockets to reopen although the country is to attract Covid-19 cases completely under control.
“Despite being conscious of bringing criticism, the authorities allowed reopening of Tasmac outlets.
We don’t want folks to endure by swallowing illicit arrack and smuggled liquor,” Stalin said in a video message in which he cautioned withdrawing the lockdown relaxations any moment if people don’t follow Covid-19 standards.
Tasmac stores aren’t allowed to start in 11 districts — Coimbatore, the Nilgiris, Tirupur, Erode, Salem, Karur, Namakkal, Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai — in which the range of Covid instances is large.
In 27 districts, the spirits will be available from 10am to 5pm.
In accordance with the normal operating process issued by Tasmac, tokens must be issued for audience management.
