Stalin inspects renovation work at Grand Anicut

TRICHY: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Friday inspected renovation work at Grand Anicut (Kallanai) in Thanjavur.
Stalin, who landed at Trichy airport from Chennai in the morning, reached Grand Anicut by road.
Minister for water resources S Duraimurugan, minister for municipal administration K N Nehru, minister for school education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi and officials accompanied the CM.
The CM had a brief review meeting with the ministers and the officials.
Thanjavur collector M Govindarao explained to the chief minister about renovation work being taken up at Grand Anicut.
The CM inspected desilting work at Mudhali Muthu Vari at Vallam and Vennaru at Palli Agraharam in Thanjavur.
After a brief stay at the circuit house in Trichy in the afternoon, the chief minister would leave for Salem by a special flight.
He will release water from the Mettur reservoir on Saturday for kuruvai cultivation.
