Chennai: Head of Minister Nadu Tamil M St Stalin on Saturday review at RS 300Crore Masterplan to provide a facelift to Tiruchendur Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple and provide basic facilities for worshipers.
Minister of HR & CE P K Sekar Babu, the main secretary of the Department of Chandra Mohan and senior department officials participated in a review meeting.
Minister of Fisheries Anitha Radhakrishnan and Chief Secretary V IRAI Anbu was also present on that occasion.
According to officials, the Master Plan was aimed at serving the need for increased number of worshipers to the temple.
This project will be completed in two years.
The dressing room and waiting room will be built for worshipers.
The waiting room will have a connected bathroom.
Televisions will also be installed in the waiting room to filter pujas and programs related to the temple.
“We plan to replicate the system followed in Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam where worshipers will be permitted in batches and reduce hours of waiting for worshipers offering prayers,” said an official official for the project.
Anandhanam Mandapam will be extended by taking additional floor construction.
“The Anandhanam Hall will be expanded to provide free food to 1,000 worshipers at a certain time point,” the official said.
Dormitories and guest houses will be built to accommodate more swelling.
The auditorium for religious and cultural programs and mandapams will be built as part of the project.
Commercial complexes will be built to promote the sale of palm oil products, which are available abundantly in the region, and enhance the existing security measures.
