Three-times Grand Slam winner Stanislas Wawrinka has pulled from Wimbledon because of a foot injury which dominated him out of this continuing French Open, the governing body of men’s tennis (ATP) has stated.
Former world number three Wawrinka experienced a surgery in his left foot before this season.
The 36-year-old Swiss hasn’t played with the ATP Tour since his introduction round conquer Lloyd Harris in the Qatar Open in March.
The Wimbledon contest starts on June 28.
Wawrinka has competed in the All England Club on 15 events, attaining the quarter-finals at 2014 and 2015.
He won the Australian Open at 2014 before including the French Open (2015) and also U.S.
Open (2016) names into his trophy cabinet.
The entire world 24 is currently in rehab at his bottom at Monaco.
His spokeswoman told Reuters last month which the participant expected to stay fit for its grass-court season.
