Nagpur: The Committee continues to stand Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on Friday giving a nod to provide RS41.50 Crore implementation to improve road conditions in all cities, said Chairman of the Prakash Bhoyar panel.
Overcoming people’s media, Bhoyar said that funds had been deducted from 12 heads.
He said members of the committee standing and Senior BJP Corporator Sanjay Balpande had submitted a proposal at the Friday meeting.
Now, the proposal will be submitted before the general body scheduled to meet on September 27, he said and added that after nodding home, the government had to re-raise funds from the current budget within a week.
The panel also gave a nod to build a high-rise high reservoir – the first of its type in the country – at Omkar Nagar, claimed Bhweta Banerjee’s Bhoard and Executive Engineer (Water Works).
Banerjee said that previously NMC had proposed to build two ESRs in different places.
However, because of the lack of land in Mhalgi Nagar, NMC must memo plan, he claimed.
Then, it was decided to build a double-decker ESR in Chakrapani Nagar in the East Nagpur.
Brainchild of the former Chair of the Works Water Vijay Zalke Committee, NMC will spend RS14.45 Crore for this project that will have twin ESR with a capacity of 20 liter water storage capacity.
For the query, Banerjee said that NMC has also carried out the capacity of land support through Geotech, which provides positive reports.
“So, now we will advance with this project,” said Bhoyar.
The panel also approved the health department proposal to embrace funds for health infrastructure considering the third wave projected by Covid-19.
Rs 5.39 Crore will be spent on operation and recruit staff for covid hospitals and dedicated vaccination.
Covid-19 cases in the city were under control but the head of the medical officer Dr.
Sanjay Chilkar said, “We must be careful because cases slowly increase.” Dr.
Chilkar said the NMC had approached the state and central government to provide funds to run hospitals.
To combat Pandemi, in 2020-21 NMC has received RS1.94 Crore from the Central Government and RS9 Crore from the state government.
This year, the Civic body has received the RS15 crore from the state government.
