Lucknow: Two Stars Falling from Uttar Western Uttar, Maairaj Ahmed Khan and Saurabh Chaudhary, who have brought glory to the country with many occasions, hoping to make him great at the Tokyo Olympics next month.
Maairaj, a Skeet shooter, was a native of Khurja in Bulandshahr, while Saurabh, who came from the village of Kalina Meerut, was an international 10m air gun shooter.
Maairaj Ahmed Khantalking to Toi, Maairaj said, “I am currently running my practice in Italy.
I tried hard to use gold for my country at the Tokyo Olympics.
I participated in the Rio Olympics in 2016 where I had to be satisfied with silver.
With people’s blessings, I hope to do better and make my country proud.
“In the past, Maairaj had won gold (couples) in the Commonwealth Shooting Championship, New Delhi, and Singapore Open Shooting Championship.
He also won silver in a national game in Guwahati, Kerala and Punjab in 2007, 2014 and 2015.
Born in a farmer’s family, Saurabh, who was only 19 years old, also has a long list of medals and awards at national and international events.
He took to shoot at the age of 14 years.
“Saurabh had a spark even when he had just started.
When we returned from his first event, I told his parents that he was made to shoot and you should not press him a lot for the study,” said Amit Sheoran, from whom Saurabh took his initial training.
