New Delhi: Star Indian Wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Wednesday underwent surgery at his right elbow, a few days after leaving the world championship trial.
The 27-year-old Asian champion ruled out of the world championship test here on August 31 after competing in his opening battle.
At that time, he said that the pull was not due to injury and he only felt “dizziness”.
“Elbow surgery is done! No matter how many times I fell, I will still go up,” Vinesh Tweeted, along with the photo on the hospital bed.
Vinesh, who had made the exit of a quarter-final surprise at the Tokyo Olympics, was suspended by the Indian Wrestling Federation last month for the non-discipline before being released by warning.
