COLOMBO: Former Sri Lanka captain and legendary batsman Aravinda de Silva has requested the federal group cricketers to”begin winning games as opposed to whining” since he defended against the suggested yearly players’ contracts prepared by the committee .
De Silva said that the gamers’ rejection of their fundamental contracts has been”unfair”, since the Board is providing more for winning run against top-ranked opposition.
“it’s quite unjust that our players state they aren’t agreeable to the strategy.
The most significant truth is that they should enter the center and play guitar and begin winning matches for the nation as opposed to complaining.
“This optimistic attitude will motivate us to think about giving them more advantages, such as a number of those other nations in our area,” de Silva has been quoted as saying with’Daily News’.
Last week, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) stated that 24 of the top players were given contracts under four classes plus they were extended a deadline before June 3 to register on dotted lines.
Just six players are now in class A and their yearly cover ranges between USD 70,000 to 100,000.
Batsman Dhananjaya p Silva brings the maximum (USD 100,000) while the remainder of these were to get USD 70,000 to 80,000.
Sri Lanka’s top cricketers, headed by Test captain Dimuth Karunaratne along with a lot of senior players such as Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews, have refused to signal that the fundamental contracts they think offer much less when compared with other nations.
De Silva said the Cricket Committee, which he directs, is quite honest to the players since the new strategy will unveil extra benefits than previously since it’s a performance-based strategy.
“We discussed that issue in detail before we introduced it to the gamers.
Unlike in years past we’ve improved the advantages (300% ) than that which it had been but only about the team performance.
“It needs become a collective effort from the entire team.
Should they win a Test series, we cover them USD 150,000 that was previously restricted to USD 50,000,” stated the 55-year-old who saw 6361 conducts in 93 Tests between 1984 and 2002.
Explaining further, the prior fashionable batsman stated:”To get winning a limited-overs show, we’ve provided them USD 75,000, that was limited to USD 25,000.
“Additionally, we introduced a slab to its T20 format, which also runs into a maximum of USD 50,000, which previously did not have any benefits whatsoever.
