Gurgaon: In an effort to invest in school staff and universities throughout the city, the Ministry of Health has planned to establish 42 special centers starting from Thursday.
Each site will have a covishield dose for 50 first doses and 50 seconds.
The Ministry of Health aims to vaccinate all school staff in the state at the end of this month.
Apart from the 42 of these sites, 62 government centers will also open on Thursday for drivers of inoculation.
“We will hold a dedicated session for people who work in schools and universities and our goals are to vaccinate all school staff in the state on August 31.
We also plan to send teams to educational institutions,” said Dr.
Virender Yadav, Head of Medical Officer, Gurgaon.
Five special vans will be used for this purpose, he added.
The Ministry of Health will prepare a micro plan to autoculate students who qualify for shooting.
“We have asked the University to identify the site where our team can set up camp.
At present, the target is to invest and non-teaching staff in schools and universities.
After that, we plan to vaccinate students,” Yadav said.
On Wednesday, the city gets 30,000 doses of covishield.
Of the 62 government sessions planned for Thursday, 54 will manage Covishield and Covaxin shots will be available in seven places.
Sputnik v will be given on one site.
As many as 12,759 people in the 18-44 year age group were vaccinated on Wednesday.
In category 45+, 3,306 people take photos and 85 health care and 154 frontline workers are also inoculated.
Overall, 16,304 shots were given.
While 7,759 doses were given at the government location, 8,545 shots were given in private centers.
A total of 9,342 the first dose and 6,962 the second dose had been given.
So far, 21.31,532 shots have been given in the city.
Of these, 15,84,632 is the first dose and 5.46,900 is the second dose.
According to the 2011 census, a gurgaon population that qualifies for vaccination is 17.41,000.
So far, around 91% of the population have received at least one dose and a little more than 31% have received both doses.
Six new Covid cases on Wednesday, Gurgaon recorded six new Covid cases, took the calculation to 1,81,002.
There are 75 active cases.
The level of prospitis is 0.1% and the recovery rate is 99.6%.
In the last 24 hours, five people have recovered.
While 70 patients were in house isolation, five were in the hospital.
