Ghaziabad: District administration has asked Madrasa teachers to help overcome vaccine doubts in their area so that the target of completing the first dose on November 30 can be fulfilled.
On Tuesday, District Judge R K Singh held a meeting with around 200 madrasah teachers and asked them to ensure advanced people for their shot against Covid-19.
Dr.
GP Mathuria, Nodal Officer for vaccination, said the vaccination camp will also be held at the Madrasah from Wednesday.
“Madrasas will be identified according to the area and vaccination camps will be held for the next one week.
Apart from Madrasas management, assistance from the police and other departments will also be taken,” he said.
According to the target set by the state government, the Ghaziabad population that qualified for vaccination is a little more than 27 lakh people.
So far, 36.4 lakh Jab has been given – 23.6 lakh first dose and 12.8 lakh second dose.
This means that around 3.45 lakh people have not received one shot.
Health officials said there was still doubts around the Covid vaccine in several bags, especially in rural areas.
Loni, BHOJPUR and DASNA are some areas where the coverage is low.
After the second wave of Covid, these areas have seen an increase in the amount of vaccination.
But with declining cases, there is no sense of urgency among people in getting Jab, they add.
On Monday, the DM has asked the Ministry of Health to reach the target of 40,000 jabs every day by combining rural and urban areas so that the first dose is given to each resident with a specified time.
He also asked health officials to drive vaccination on Saturdays and Sundays.
