Startup IIT Ropar introduces the first 'plant-based' air purifier

PATIALA: Starter scientists from the Institute of Indian Technology, Ropar and Kanpur and the Faculty of Management Studies at the University of Delhi have developed live plant-based air purifiers that strengthen the process of air purification in indoor spaces.
Indoor spaces can become hospitals, schools, offices and homes.
The Startup IIT Ropar company, an urban air laboratory, which has developed the product claims it as the first country in the world of ‘smart bio-filter’ art that can make fresh breathing.
It has been incubated in IIT Ropar, which is the Hub of the IHUB – Awadh (Agriculture and Agricultural and Water Technology) by the Department of Science and Technology, Indian Government.
This technology works through a natural leafy plant that purifies air.
The room air interacts with leaves and goes to the land root zone where maximum pollutants are purified.
The new technology used in this product is the ‘urban munnar effect’ along with ‘respiratory roots’ which is delayed to strengthen the phytoremediation process of plants exponentially.
Phytonemediation is a process where plants effectively eliminate pollutants from the air.
Air cleaners ‘ibriathe life’ effectively improve the quality of indoor air by removing contaminants of particles, gas and biological while increasing oxygen levels in indoor space through certain plants, UV disinfection, and pre-filter stacks, charcoal filters and hepa (high efficiency particulate Water) Filters are installed in a specially designed wooden box.
There is a centrifugal fan that creates suction pressure in the cleaners, and releases purified air, formed on the root, through outlets in the direction of 360 degrees.
Certain plants are tested for air purification includes Lily peace, snake plant, spider plant, etc.
And all have gave good results in purifying indoor air.
“This tested product ‘Ubreathe Life’ can be a modifier of the game to maintain clean air in the room.
This study shows that vaccination by itself may not guarantee security at work, schools, and even homes are fully closed except air filtration, purification air and ventilation in the room becomes part of the design of the building.
the test results, conducted by the Council of National Accreditation for Laboratory testing and Calibration Laboratory and IIT Ropar stated that the AQI (Index air Quality) for the room size 150sqft dropped from 311 to 39 within 15 minutes after using ‘Ubreathe Life’.
“Claim the Director of IIT-Ropar Prof.
Rajeev Ahuja.
