Ramgarh: The State Labor Department on Thursday, and skills development on Thursday worth RS 1 Lakh each to the wife of four migrant workers from the GOLA Block who died at the Bursa glacier in Chamoli in Uttarakhand this year.
The Minister of Labor, Satyanand Bhokta handed over the money to Janda Birsay Mahto, Mishilesh Mahto and Kuldeep Mahto from Chokad Village and Mahto Mahto from Sangrampur Village in the state-sponsored function on Thursday night.
Birsay, Mithilesh, Kuldeep and Madan lost in the avalanche that swept the NTPC Hydel power plant site in Tapovan followed Glacier Burst in February this year.
The four men from Ramgarh were among 14 people, most contract employees worked at the location, which was lost and then said by the Government of Uttarakhand.
Nima Kumari, wife late MithLesh Mahto, Rinki Devi, wife of Birsay Mahto, Hematti Devi, wife of Kuldeep Kuldeep Kumar Mahto and Tunubala Devi, wife of the deceased Madian Mahto received compensation from Bhokta.
“The widow of Burst Chamoli Glacier has also been approved by a house under the Ambedkar Watch out.
Efforts are also ongoing to give them a green card (PDS) and retirement of social security,” said Gola Bdo Santosh Kumar to Ti.
Hempti said, “We have not received financial compensation announced by the Uttarakhand Government.
NTPC officials have assured that they will give us the promised compensation after the Jharkhand government compensates for us.”
