Chennai: Chief of Minister Tamil Nadu MK Stalin on Thursday urged Kerala’s colleague Pinarayi Vijayan to continue the practice of declaring January 14 as a local holiday for the Pongal Festival living in the country.
Taking a problem with the notification of the head of Kerala’s minister, Stalin requested that a local holiday was declared to be pongal in six neighboring countries where people talked to large amounts of Tamil.
“I wander to understand that for the past 12 years the Kerala Government has stated January 14 as a local holiday for the Pongal Festival, which is also the first day of the Tamil month profitable ‘Thailand.’ But this year, January 15 was proposed to be declared as a holiday in the six districts, “said Chief Minister in a letter aimed at his colleague.
He looked for Vijayan to continue the practice of declaring January 14, as a local holiday for a pongal festival when celebrated on a certain date around the world among the Tamil community.
