Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 3,898 new Coronavirus infections and 86 deaths on Tuesday, took the calculation of infection in the country to 64,93,698 and the death toll became 1,37,897, a health department official said.
The number of cases of everyday and death witnessed a little uptick compared to Monday when the country reported 3,626 new Covid-19 cases and 37 deaths.
With 3,581 patients restored out of the hospital, the total recovery rose to 63.04,336.
There were 3,06,524 people in home quarantine, 2,021 in institutional quarantine and 47,926 patients were active.
The level of recovery of Maharashtra cases was at 97.08 percent while the mortality rate was 2.12 percent.
The number of Coronavirus tests carried out in the country rose to 5.51.59,364 with 1,59,889 samples tested since Monday night.
Dhule District, Nandurbar, Hingoli, Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha and Bhandara and the city of Dhule City, Parbhani and Amravati did not report fresh Covid-19 cases on Tuesday.
The Ahmednagar district reported 657 the highest new infection, followed by Pune District with 424 new infections.
Ahmednagar also reported 18 highs of deaths among the district during the day.
Among the eight areas of Maharashtra, the Pune region reported 1,483 new cases, followed by 776 cases in the Mumbai region.
Nashik The region reported 767 new cases, Kolhapur 692, Latur 119, Akola 13, and the Aurangabad and Nagpur regions each reported 24 new cases.
The highest 40 fatalities were also reported in the Pune region, followed by 21 deaths in the Nashik area.
The Nagpur area does not report new deaths.
The Kolhapur region reported 15 deaths, Mumbai Five, Latur and Akola two deaths, and the Aurangabad region recorded one death.
The city of Mumbai reported 349 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths, while Pune City reported 238 new cases and two deaths.
Pune district has 12,409 highest active cases.
