Thiruvananthapuram: CPM finally reacted to clashes between CPM workers and CPI in Pathanamthitta.
CPM State Secretary KodiYeri Balakrishnan said the party would investigate CPM-CPI clashes in Pathamthitta.
“CPM workers and CPI are not supposed to attack each other.
We will ask what happened there,” said Secretary of the CPM State CPM KodiYeri Balakrishnan to reporters in the capital on Tuesday.
Videos from two CPI activists who were contacted on the Angadical in Pathamthitta had appeared on Sunday.
Then, the CPI came out with allegations that CPM sympathizers beat party workers after a dispute that occurred on January 16 during the election of the Angadac Cooperative Bank.
People, who were attacked in the video, were identified as party workers by CPI.
Secretary of the Codumon Local Committee CPI Suresh Babu and MK Udayakumar was attacked, the CPI source had said.
On Tuesday, the CPI of Janayugom’s funnel published an editorial that condemned the attack as a ‘Goonda attack’.
Without naming CPM, editorial said the attack in Pathanamthitta in connection with the selection of cooperative banks bent to the level of criminal-goonda activity.
