In his memory, Ulavi Channabasaveshwar Temple was built on Bukit UB.
The source said the Temple Committee was building a base at the intersection on the way to the Dharwad train station and the Post Office.
The Committee has requested HDMC to provide room for sculpture and approved in 2004.

Ramanagoudar told TII, “The installation of the Channabasaveshwar statue is our old demand since 2004.
Now demand has been fulfilled.
The work has finished and the statue is ready to be launched .
We are waiting for the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to inaugurate officially.
“Temple Trustee TS Patil said high bronze statue of a 12-foot designed and created by an artist from Kolhapur at a cost of Rs 9 lakh.
The whole circle has been decorated with plants and statues will be launched soon, he added.
